Gujral's latest line of antique jewellery is named Rang Rasa Frank Gehry Fish Pendant an explosion of colours and opens with exhibitions in Mumbai as well. "Jewellery is a significant part of our heritage and I strive to capture the essence of beauty in each of my designs while also incorporating a piece of our history," says Gujral.A. This season the emphasis will be on trendy necklaces. Long necklaces are in. The broad cuff bracelets have given way to sleeker, but wider, bangles. Wearing lots of bangles is in. Q. Rang Rasa is an interesting name; any reason why you named it so?A. The latter half of the year is full of festivals. That means colours, not only in the literal sense but also because the atmosphere is upbeat. Also, this time I have played around with various colours.Q. What is your main inspiration?A. I started off experimenting with stones of various hues. I wanted to stick to a theme and wanted to keep to the celebratory mood that lead up to Diwali. Also, most of my pieces are antique pieces that hints at the art during Mughal times.Q. What kind of jewellery pieces are Tiffany Notes Pendant in your line?A. I have created necklaces, bracelets, rings and earrings.Q. Do you foresee a change in jewellery trends this season?A. This season the emphasis will be on trendy necklaces. Long necklaces are in. I have primarily used gold as a base. Stones that I have used are turquoise, rubies, emeralds, tourmalines, pearls amethysts and corals. Eight shades of emeralds and corals have adorned the jewels in this collection.Q. How is Rang Rasa different from your other collections?A. Most of my previous collections were colour centric, for example, Mood Indigo had shades of blue.Jewels in the crownNeckpiecesGujral's design emphasis is on bold neckpieces. While some sport an antique look, the others are modern and can be worn on formal as well as on casual occasions.This red neckpiece is made of corals and the centre is studded with polki diamonds on gold.
