By RacingReadyDan [Blog Entry] http://www.fullsolo.org/blogs/blogger/RacingReadyDan/9104-this-community-was-good-while-it-lasted A couple of months ago, my friend Steven Johnson shared the sad news that this site was no longer going to be active. ?That's a damn shame!? This was a new & innovative concept in the autocross enthusiast community. ?It employed the social network model & and was pulling some very good traffic numbers for such a short time online. It is my desire that possibly, in the future, this concept will gain new legs & maybe some other, stable backing.? I sure wish I knew the reason behind it all... Oh well, keep racing out there & pushing the enthusiast spirit going for learning to race your car better. When the mood strikes you & you need further racing enthusiasts inspiration, visit Racing Ready! That 1:15 minute SASCA Autocross compilation was well done, with a variety of cars, angle shots & so on. It's a wonderful cross section of the variety of the the autocross competion, The captions/tiles are a nice additional touch. We'll see you all at the next one. I'm sure we'll be expecting another compilation, Steven...RacingReadyDan http://www.fullsolo.org/blogs/blogger/RacingReadyDan/7980-sasca-2009-autocross-7-compilation-video-a-hit Tue, 21 Jul 2009 21:11:00 -0500 Up For 22 Hours + TRSCCA Autox #4 By Stevenj [Blog Entry] http://www.fullsolo.org/blogs/blogger/Stevenj/7459-up-for-22-hours-trscca-autox-4 Its 1AM Monday morning here as I write this blog entry, come to think of it, I've been up for 22 hours! Why you ask? Well I started my day at 3am Sunday morning in getting ready to drive from San Marcos, Texas to Dallas/Forth Worth Texas (3.5 hours drive) to cover the 2009 Texas Region SCCA Autocross #4. After the event ended, I wrapped up and hurried back home so I could upload the interviews and run videos from the event so that everyone can watch it. Here they are! Thank you to EVERYONE at the Texas Region autocross! Everyone there was more than helpful in every possible way! I was impressed by the level of skill the drivers of the Texas Region had when it came to precision driving. There were several parts of the course that would test the driver to the limit, but the TRSCCA drivers just said "No problem, it could have been tighter". Most of all the hospitality of all the drivers was awesome! Even though I only knew one person (Tommy) everyone was happy to talk to me. Some even went out of their way to make sure that I was comfortable in the blistering heat. I definitely made some new friends. I cannot wait to come back for the Divisional!Stevenj http://www.fullsolo.org/blogs/blogger/Stevenj/7459-up-for-22-hours-trscca-autox-4 Mon, 15 Jun 2009 01:01:00 -0500 A Safe Bet, If It’s Speed You Need By RacingReadyDan [Blog Entry] http://www.fullsolo.org/blogs/blogger/RacingReadyDan/7449-a-safe-bet-if-its-speed-you-need Autocross:An accessible sport for those who love driving fast! At the SPOKES 2009 Autocross #5 I had mentioned that Ricardo, a reporter from the Austin American-Statesman newspaper, was very busy. The result is this informative introduction to autocross just released yesterday. Here’s the beginning of that article… Buckling in the seat belt, I already feel well strapped in, but Bo Rivers pulls at my belt to make it a nudge tighter. My torso isn’t going anywhere, and a racing helmet is protecting my head. He points out a grab handle on the door. “You ready?” Rivers asks. Once the flag man gives the OK, we’re off in a burst toward a half-mile race course at the San Marcos Municipal Airport on an overcast but still bright May afternoon. Up ahead, after a short straightaway, are dozens of scattered orange traffic cones that raise the question: “How does he know where to go?” . . . To follow the rest of this article, click here… Racing Ready continues to promote this underrepresented sport - keep following! At?the SASCA Autocross # 5 of 2009, he was busy video interviewing many participants, including me.? In addition, he still found the time to compete in the autocross. My hat's off to you, Steven! This FullSolo community will grow and provide a depth of coverage that's been seriously lacking in local/regional amateur autosports arena.? Racing Ready is here to continue to promote this push! We'll see you out there... In addition, I talk about plans to grow the site in cooperation with FullSolo. Racing Ready's tagline is: "Go from wannabe racer to successful racing competitor!" I would like to make a clarification about the information my blog site provides.? My blog's appeal is greater than the autocross community.? I have information (& will be providing more) about HPDE (high performance driver education) events and road racing.? Of equal or greater importance, I want to address the necessity to "improve the nut behind the wheel before you wrench on the car". What I said turned out to be pretty good - I am pleased!? Here's the video... My Racing Ready Manifesto outlined the original direction I wanted to take this blog.? I have recommitted to get back on that track (pun somewhat intended).? I am tasked to increase the awareness & understanding of educational racing opportunities & why it's important.? Learning to be a better driver involves not only applying new skills & mastering their execution.? The state of your mind, our visualization of racing success is also very critical.? The largely untapped mental capacity we possess can be a great influence in the racing results we achieve. So please, follow along with Steven Johnson of FullSolo to discover his autocross achievements & success, along with many others in the community.? As he & his site progresses, Racing Ready will be there to add a parallel point of view with additional insight.? Enjoy the ride, or better yet, the racing! Steven has been learning the system and planning his content gathering, even got a few interviews at an event. I realize there is a few pitfalls and bugs, lack of features but we wanted to first focus on capturing content for you. Although I have tons of ideas and features listed in my head, here are two core features that I want to build into FullSolo initially:Digital Car GarageVideo Run Data Digital Car Garage The digital car garage is now available, however only with limited features. You can add your car, details about it, upload a main photo. View other member Cars. What else is coming:add more photos to your caradd videos to your caradvance search features for member carsability to attach a car to your videoSo go ahead add your car, basic info and photo for now. Once all the other features are done, you can go back to add more content. Video Run Data Today you can upload videos, however if its a video of your Autocross or Road Course run, there is no way to populate it with Run data--other then in description box. The idea is for you to save your run#, time, tire pressure settings, swaybar settings, etc. So the next functionality will allow you to enter in very specific properties to videos of your Autocross Runs. Here is a comprehensive list of what you will be able to input for your Run videos: car_yearcar_makecar_modelcar_trimsolo_classsolo_paxcar_numberdriver_first_namedriver_last_nameRun Time: 0:00.000# of Cones Hit: 0-10Passenger? This community will establish a foundation of interest & growth in the amateur sport of autocross (Solo). This has been something lacking in the past, and although pysically based in South/Central Texas, will move across the country fast. I know this will grow virally & soon! I see this as a win-win for the local autcrosser to get some well-deserved recognition, as well as increase the popularity and awareness of this sport we all enjoy. All will benefit! I support the shared vision & initiative of Full Solo & pledge to help it to grow though my blog, RacingReady.com. We'll see you out there (& also, in here!)... ;-) Racing Ready DanRacingReadyDan http://www.fullsolo.org/blogs/blogger/RacingReadyDan/7314-supporting-full-solo-through-racing-ready Fri, 05 Jun 2009 21:50:00 -0500 Welcome To Full Solo By Stevenj [Blog Entry] http://www.fullsolo.org/blogs/blogger/Stevenj/7296-welcome-to-full-solo Welcome to Full Solo!
